PURPOSE

Asian American communities in Ohio have had limited experience interacting with their state representatives, senators and other policymakers.  Therefore, our communities are considered “beginners” when it comes to advocacy.

The HTA program does not allow us to lobby or advocate for specific legislation or bill.    The purpose of the Advocacy Training is to prepare the participants for the upcoming Legislative Day in June 2010.

Community Reports on the Health of Ohio’s Asian Americans

The Ohio Asian American Health Coalition is pleased to share with you two significant community reports on the health status of Ohio’s Asian American community.  The reports were compiled as part of the 2008 statewide community gathering of over 80 people for two days of in-depth discussions, information sharing, and planning.  We hope that these reports serve as important resources to develop policy at the local and state levels as well as assist agencies in planning programs and services.
