Health Through Action – Ohio
In 2008, OAAHC was one of ten grantees from across the country to receive a four-year grant from the Asian Pacific Islander American Health Forum and the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The Health Through Action is a project focused on strengthening community approaches to eliminate health disparities within Native Hawaiians, Asians and Pacific Islanders.
In the next four years, OAAHC will conduct activities to address Hepatitis B with a goal to increase awareness and resources for the prevention, education, screening, and treatment of the disease. In addition, the coalition will be engaged in capacity building activities such as advocacy training, board and staff development, and program development so local community-based API organizations can maintain and sustain the program beyond the grant funding.
